Job Description

Prolytix is a newly rebranded, rapidly growing analytical CRO providing products and analytical services in support of drug development activities. 

Prolytix is a rapidly growing, large molecule CRO with world class protein chemistry expertise, integrated large molecule analytical services, and customized products to support biopharma R&D. We are currently seeking a Vice President, Business Development to lead our business development team.    

The candidate will be a highly motivated and energetic individual, and will interact with marketing, laboratory, manufacturing, and senior management teams to develop and close opportunities. The ideal candidate will be proximally located to one of the biopharma technology centers such as South San Francisco, San Diego, Boston, or the NJ/PA corridor.

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President, Business Development, is responsible for representing Prolytix and expanding our CMC analytical services and products business units.  You will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team providing strategic direction for the company.  This position will be responsible for building a commercial strategy, expanding the company’s sales team and marketing activities, and driving revenue growth by acquiring new accounts and building on established accounts.   You will use technical and sales experience to build lasting relationships with clients. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new leads/opportunities
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to allow management team
  • Develop strategic growth plans and sales and marketing campaigns
  • Develop commercial relationships with senior executives of potential clients
  • Develop KPIs and metrics for sales and marketing
  • Close substantial sales in collaboration with technical teams
  • Manage current business relationships with existing clients
  • Support activities with external marketing partner
  • Manage sales and marketing team
  • Establish realistic and achievable goals for the sales and marketing team
  • Develop sales and marketing presentations to highlight Prolytix capabilities
  • Deliver presentations to prospective clients with Prolytix scientific experts
  • Travel to client sites and industry tradeshows
  • Communicate potential client strategies to Prolytix management
  • Create proposals and quotations
  • Ensure client contract requirements are adhered to
  • Lead engagement of customer’s voice within the organization
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • B.S./M.S. in science related field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development
  • Prior Analytical CMC CRO business development experience required
  • Significant recent large molecule experience
  • Pharmaceutical development experience preferred
  • Ability to network with executive management
  • Demonstrated success in fast changing, multiple project environment
  • Experience with cGMPs
  • Proven financial and strategic accumen
